45 years of Loreleis legacy… and a future worth funding
For 45 years, the Loreleis have been more than an a cappella group.
We have been a home for young women finding confidence, lifelong friendships and a shared love of music. Our presence in the Chapel Hill community has provided memories that span generations of UNC students and Loralums.
The spring of 2027 will mark our 45th anniversary, an incredible milestone that is a testament to the commitment every single member has invested into this group. We have big dreams for our 45th year, in addition to supporting the group to continue making music for many more years to come.
Some of these dreams include a 45th anniversary concert and celebratory weekend to honor the generations of women who have made The Loreleis who they are. We are also halfway through production of our newest album and have goals of releasing it to streaming platforms in April 2027.
However, these dreams face a significant challenge. Recent reductions in university funding have left student organizations like ours responsible for a much greater share of our operating costs. While we continue to perform, recruit, rehearse, and represent Carolina with excellence, sustaining the organization and funding new projects, like our upcoming album, has become increasingly difficult.
Your support will help make this milestone year possible and will ensure The Loreleis can continue to sing in Chapel Hill for another 45 years.
Every gift helps us:
- Cover our 45th anniversary concert and celebratory weekend costs, honoring and reuniting generations of Loreleis
- Offset operational expenses that permit our standard and legacy of excellence for years to come, ensuring future students can continue the tradition that so many alumnae helped build
- Complete editing/mixing production of our upcoming 2027 Album.
While we will be unable to achieve these visions without your help, this fundraising goal represents more than a concert or album. We hope to preserve an artistic tradition that has enriched the Chapel Hill community for nearly half a century. We hope to ensure that future Loreleis experience the same joy, friendship, mentorship, and musical excellence that generations before them have known.
